Halloween Coffin Candy Holder---Scary!

I found these great wood coffins at Michael's the other day. I thought I could totally make something out of them so here is what I came up with.

Here is a close up of the front.

Of course I went to fill it with candy and can you believe it, it is 2 days before Halloween and I haven't even bought candy yet.... Crazy!
So here is all I had in the house. Oh well you get the point.

Here is what I used for this project:
Wood coffin
Black Paint
Spider at 1 1/4 inches from Oct 31
RIP at 1 1/4 inches from Happy Hauntings page 57
Echo Park- Happy Halloween paper kit
EK Success Adoraments fibers

Fall Wall Hanging- CJTOO DT Project

Hi Everyone,

Fall is my favorite time of year. The leaves are changing colors, the weather starts to change, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Here is my 1st design team project for Craft Junkie Too. I am really excited about how this turned out. I used some of my clearance coasters again, from Michaels. I took the project over to my mom's on Sunday and hung it up on her fireplace for the pictures. She liked it so much I almost didn't get it back from her. I told her she could have it after I was done with pictures and after I make another one.
On to the project. Like I said before I used the coasters I found at Michael's in the $1 bin  at 70% off (WOOT! WOOT!) lol....and the patterned paper is from the DCWV Autunm Splendor pack from Joanns.

All the letters are cut from Storybook at 3.5 inches, I used Creative Memories card stock for all the solid colors and the inked the letters with orange and brown ink.

The tree is cut from Cindy Loo at 3.5 inches.

The  leaves are cut from Thanksgiving at 1.5 inches and the pumpkins are from Everyday Paper dolls cut at 3 inches.

Acorns are cut from Create a Critter at 3 inches

Turkey cut from Thanksgiving at 2.75 inches and the pie is from Country Life cute at 3 inches.

1. Cover coasters with paper, sand edges down.
2. Ink the sides and edges with chocolate ink and burgandy brown ink.
3. Cut all cuts off Cricut and put together.
4. After all cuts are put together, add to coasters.
5. Punch two holes at the top of each coaster, I used my crop o dile.
6. Feed ribbon through holes.

I am so excited to be a part of the Think Pink blog hop. I wanted to be apart of spreading the word about Breast Cancer awareness to all women and men. I found some myths and facts about Breast Cancer from www.baltimoresun.com
Check these out, they are really interesting:

Myth: Only women get breast cancer.
Fact: 1,970 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2010.

Myth: If your grandmother, mother or sister had breast cancer you will get it, too.
Fact: Only 15 percent to 20 percent of women with breast cancer have a family history of the disease.

Myth: If no one in your family has had breast cancer, you won't get it either.
Fact: 80 percent to 85 percent of women with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.

Myth: Your genetic risk of getting breast cancer comes only from your mother's side of the family.
Fact: Half of your genes come from your mother and half from your father. Therefore both sides of your family influence your risk equally.

Myth: Only "old" women get breast cancer.
Fact: 25 percent of women with breast cancer are younger than 50.

Please take time today to share with all the women in your life how much they mean to you and some of the facts you learned here today.

Okay on to the projects I made for this special occasion and of BLOG CANDY!!!!!. I hope you enjoy them.

I have made three special projects for this hop.

The 1st is a Think Pink gift box. I found round gift boxes at Joanne’s for a dollar, painted it pink, and then added paper from Making Memories Breast Cancer Awareness paper pack sold a Michael’s. Then I added ribbon around where the 2 different papers meet and around the body.

I added pink ribbons around the lid to give it an extra touch ontop of white ribbon I wrapped around the lid
. Finally I finished it off with some flowers on the top of the box lid.

2nd I made a Pink pencil holder using the same paper collection from the 1st project. I went to Target and found the pail in the $1 section along with the pencils and paper pad.

I also used the same Making Memories flowers from the 1st project and finished it off with a ribbon.

The 3rd project I made I am so excited about how it turned out. I found these card board coasters at Michaels in the $1 section, and get this all $1 items were 70% off, so I ended up getting them for $0.30. Can you believe that? I wanted to make a pink project for my daughter’s bedroom, so I came up with this wall hanging.

The 1st step was to cover all the coasters with paper, then I sanded the edges down so the paper fit perfectly on the coasters.

Then using Once Upon A Princess cartridge, I cut out the princess and clothes at 3 ¼ inches, Cupcake at 2.5 inches, and the butterfly at 2 ¾ inches. I used Platin Schoolbook for the letters and cut those out at 3 inches. Then glued onto the coasters.  I also inked the edges and letters to get them some depth.

I put holes in the coasters using my big bite, and then found these metal rings at OfficeMax to connect each coaster together. So this is what the final project looks like.

NOW--- on to the fun stuff....For the blog candy for the Think Pink Blog Hop I am giving away the Cricut Cartridge PUMPKIN CARVINGS, this is awesome cartridge and you will have it in time to use it on your pumpkins for Halloween.
